January, 2016 Update

Three german shorthair pointers arrived on January 17!  All are healthy; one male, two females.  These pups have outstanding bloodlines and show great promise as show or field dogs.

The breeding that was planned has been delayed; we are sorry to say that  Pointercreek Mackie, owned by Bobbi Roseborough, has experienced a health issue that precludes him being a sire.  A new sire will be chosen and cleared for health issues; the dam will still be Phyzer’s Hershey’s Kiss, owned by Heidi Schwartz/Mellowdea Kennels.

Please be advised that Mellowdea Kennels has strict requirements that must be met by any prospective buyer of a Mellowdea Kennels puppy.  Only the most serious inquiries will be considered, and the purchase contract contains many stipulations that must be agreed to. The following information is provided for your information, but should not be considered to be all inclusive;  full explanation of the contract will be made at the time of inquiry/purchase.

• Mellowdea Kennels GSP puppies, when available, will start at approximately $800 each.
• All puppies must be micro chipped, and the contact information on file must include the owner and Mellowdea Kennels.
• The puppy must be raised in a family environment; the puppy will be matched to a family that suits its personality.
• Weekly contact must be maintained by the family with Mellowdea Kennels minimally through the first year.
• Any puppy that needs to be surrendered by its family is to be returned to Mellowdea Kennels.
• All puppies come with a health guarantee.

For those of you who may not yet have had the experience of purchasing a pedigreed puppy, Mellowdea Kennels’ contract is in line with the industry standard. The contract should be viewed first and foremost as a means to address the long term well-being of the dog.
